A new research agreement between Iuro Group and the Department of Agriculture of “Federico II” University in Naples was signed.
Iuro Group has always been committed to important and innovative Research and Development projects in collaboration with the best universities and national research centers. Recently, Iuro has signed a research agreement with the Department of Agriculture Sciences of “Federico II” University in Naples, concerning the microbiological study of methane-generating potential of some biomass waste from food industries, for the purposes of their energetic exploitation.
The objective of the study carried out by Olimpia Pepe, Professor of Microbiology Division, and his team of researchers, is to analyze some organic matrices resulting from the processing of widely-used agri-food products that currently represent a potential source of environmental pollution.
Thanks to its great experience in the design and construction of plants for energy production from waste and organic by-products, Iuro, thereby, is strengthening its commitment to study innovative solutions for the energy exploitation from industrial waste.
In addition to the biogas sector, Iuro is currently involved in Research and Development projects on Fuel Cells and the Microbial Cells in collaboration with the University of Naples "Federico II" and Parthenope, the University of Perugia, the University of Salerno, Enea and the CNR (National Research Council).
